Preet was 2 yr old boy when he presented to us with complains of inability to sit and stand independently. He was a known case of cerebral palsy. Before coming to us they went to multiple physiotherapy centre but they were not very clear about the treatment and prognosis of their child.
When they first consulted us we examined the child in detail with the help of pediatric orthopedic surgeon and made a proforma regarding all the clinical findings. We counseled the family about cerebral palsy and the need of comprehensive care and long term physiotherapy required . family consented for the same. We offered early intervention care to the child, active stretching of spastic muscle using neuro developmental therapy and core muscle strengthening.
Clinical exam was repeted every month along with pediatric orthopedic surgeon to objectify the progress of the child.
After 2months of regular physiotherapy child started independent sitting and after 6 months child started independent walking. The confidence of family was increasing day by day by seeing the progress of the child and dedication of team.Patient is still on follow up and is doing really well. We are thankful to the family for their faith in us.
